Cote d’Azur (Nice-Monaco-Cannes)

Everyone, at least once, dreams of visiting the Cote d’Azur. It was a favorite place of «beau monde». Here lived three generations of Russian emperors: the magnificent Chaliapin, the unsurpassed Isadora Duncan, and Edith Piaf. Dreams come true! A wonderful, unforgettable trip awaits you!

1st day

Departure from the coast. We will travel through the whole of southern France, enjoying the magnificent scenery of the vineyards and the Camargue reserve.

The Cote d’Azur will meet us at Cannes on the famous Croisette. We will walk tthe Palace of the Film Festival through the alley of the stars. In your spare time, you will have the opportunity twalk along the Golden Mile and enjoy the amazing taste of fresh oysters and a glass of pink Provencal wine in one of the restaurants.

Our journey will continue with arrival at the most famous principality of the world— Monaco, whose history begins with the founding of the colony of the Republic of Genoa and the construction of the fortress in 1215. During the civil war in Genoa, François Grimaldi, disguised as a monk along with his retinue, entered the fortress and established dominion over it. The date January 8, 1297 is considered the beginning of the rule of the Grimaldi dynasty and the establishment of the Independent State of Monaco. Since then, for more than 700 years, the princedom has been governed by Grimaldi.

During the excursion, we will make a pedestrian walk tthe legendary princely palace-fortress. We will see the Oceanographic Museum directed by Jacques Yves Cousteau; we will gtthe cathedral; we will breathe the scents of the Grace Keli Botanical Garden, and learn the story of her love for Prince Rainier. In this divine corner of the Côte d’Azur, we will see the fashionable area of ​​Fontvieille and the amazingly beautiful yachts in the Mediterranean bay. Then, as we pass along the race track tthe area of ​​Monte CarlPrincipality, we will feel like real drivers of Formula 1.

The next thing that awaits us is the most famous casinin the world, where fabulous money is lost and won. We, too, will be able texperience fate because everyone knows that newcomers are lucky! We will have free time tadmire the stunning fountains and gardens, shop the best boutiques and jewelry stores in the world, and, if desired, have a cup of coffee at the famous Grand Hotel De Paris Café. In the evening, we move tNice, where we will check intthe hotel. Nice is the largest city of the French Riviera, where a spectacular nightly bohemian life is enchanted with copious entertainment and seaside cafes.

2nd day

At 9:00 a.m., we will gon a small bus tour of Nice with a visit tthe Orthodox Holy Transfiguration Cathedral of St. Nicholas, built under the monarch’s patronage of the Romanov Dynasty. There are many relics of Russian emperors, one of which is the Miraculous “Weeping Icon of St. Nicholas.” Then we will walk through one of the famous flower bazaars of Provence, with lavender smells and stunning country roses. Next, we move tEz, the world capital of perfumery. This beautiful town and its surroundings produce most of the fragrant oils that are used in the manufacture of French perfumes.

The perfume industry in Provence was founded more than four centuries ago. We will visit Fragonar’s old perfume factory, where you will hear and see many interesting things. You can alsbuy amazing French perfumes at affordable prices. On the way back, we will not be able tdrive past the city of Arles—the last home of Vincent Van Gogh, where his most famous works were written. We pass along the old center, past the oldest Europe arena for bullfighting and the Amphitheater, where Gaius Julius Caesar himself fought. We will see a cafe where Van Gogh liked thave a cup of coffee and the Church of St. Trofim.
